Two people have been arrested and released, while a large amount of suspected drugs and firearms were seized by Cranbrook RCMP last week.

In a news release, police say a search warrant was executed at a home in the 200-block of 3rd Ave. S on April 16, where six kilograms of suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine and Psilocybin were seized by the Cranbrook RCMP Enhanced Response Unit.

In addition to the suspected drugs, approximately $80,000 in Canadian, American and Mexican currency was also located, say police.

Several prohibited weapons and two firearms were also seized from the scene.

“This was a great team effort spearheaded by Cranbrook’s Enhanced Response Unit,” said S/Sgt Barry Graham, Detachment Commander. “We are thankful we were able to seize these items before they made it to the streets of Cranbrook.”

A 52-year-old male and a 45-year-old female were arrested, and released to appear in court at a later date.
